US foreign policy in the future

Today the US are functioning as "the world police". One example is the war in Iraq. In 2003 the US meant that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and that they made a threat to the world peace. In a result of this claim USA and George W. Bush decided to go to war against Iraq.

Today the war has become a bloody fight where many civilians get killed. Many people are disagreeing with the war and the way Bush used to “stop” terrorists. How the war can get a end, without totally chaos is a huge question and we have to hope that President Obama and his new foreign policy minister, Hillary Clinton (she accept the task today, 21th of November), can come to a peaceful solution.

I mention that USA are acting like they are “the world police”, but that make the “real” world police, called the United Nation, disappearing. UN was establish in 1945, the same year as the ending of Second World War. The reason for the birth of UN was to founded world peace over borders. Nowadays has the role of UN become weakened and is used as a backup plan if the attack fails. In my opinion should the world and UN cooperate to establish world peace. One way of doing that is if the UN can function as a advisory in handling cases which threat the world peace, just like in 2003.

In the future should the US try to have an open dialogue with the UN and in this way hopefully achieve control and world peace.

Barack Obama as President in the USA - which consequences?

Change is a popular word in America and this is affected by the President election when Barack Obama won. For the first time in history there is a multicultural President who has grown up with his single mother and grandparents in Kansas. They didn't have a lot of money so Obama is used to have a hard time, which can be an advantage for him as President. This can be helpful especially now when the economy is bad and to buy some petrol costs a fortune.

Obama has promised change and the American people are expecting a new and better America. Of course some changes will come, but it will take several years before we can see the clearest consequence of the newly chosen President. One of the reasons for this is that it takes a while to change a country with approximate 300 million inhabitants (2006)1.

Earlier in the text I told you about the finance problem and Obama has said on his homepage that one thing that he is going to do to help the situation is to create new job opportunities so everybody can earn some money in these hard times.
Obama's slogan in the election campaign was change, so we can think that a change for the US and the people will be a huge consequence when Barack Obama is taking his place in office!
